5 Upcoming bikes to drool over!

Let’s face it. Die-hard bikers are a pretty emotional lot. They love their bikes. That is probably because you “get on” a bike and not “get in”, and you “ride” a bike and not “drive” it. You just cannot have such a relationship with your four-wheeler.

If you are one of those people, here are some upcoming bikes which are bound to set you pulse racing.

Bajaj Pulsar 375
images (7)This is long awaited model, and is expected to set the biking scene in India as did the original Bajaj Pulsar. It will have a 373 cc liquid cooled engine that will develop 44 bhp peak power at 900 rpm and 32 nM Torque at7250 rpm. The gearbox is 6-speed. The Pulsar 375 has full fairing. However it is expected to be a sports touring model rather than a superbike.

Yamaha R25

images (8)The Yamaha R 25 was revealed in the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. It will be launched this year, but Yamaha has not released any power or torque figures. It has a completely new chassis and a liquid cooled 250 cc inline 2 cylinder engine. Yahama calls it a superbike you can ride every day. This fully faired model’s styling is based on YZF-M1 MotoGP bike.

KTM RC 390
This new bike is a fully faired version of the Duke 390 which has been launched recenty. It is powered by a 373 cc water cooled single cylinder 43 bhp engine which is paired to a six-speed gearbox. While the frame is from the Duke 390, it is an out-an-out track machine, with addons to make it street legal. It is expected to be priced around Rs.2.3-2.6 lakhs. It is expected to be more comfortable with greater ride-ability than the Duke 390 because of its full fairing.

Hyosung Aquila GV 250
Going against the current trend of sports bike, Hyosung and DSK have come up with a classic budget cruiser model. This machine is powered by a V-Twin 247cc oil-cooled engine that develops 26.21 bhp at 9500 rpm and 2i.37 nM torque at 7500 rpm, paired to a 5 speed gearbox. It is designed for lazy cruising. It has disk brakes in front but a drum brake at the rear, which is rather disappointing on a bike which is expected to cost around 3 lakhs. The only other cruiser bike on the market is the Baja Avenger which cost almost 1.5 lakhs less. However the Hyosung Aquila GV 250 can be looked upon a premium yet affordable machine.

Aprilia RS4 250
images (9)Little is known about this bike at the moment. However Aprilia is a much respected marque with a great sports and racing pedigree, so this ought to be anything but tame. Although Aprilia favors the V-Twin engine configuration, this model is supposed to have a single cylinder liquid cooled 4 valve engine developing around 30 bhp. However it its styling is fully faired and should be exciting. It is rumored that it will have an advanced suspension featuring using USD front forks and a fully adjustable rear monoshock. This bike should have good handling and ride quality, but that is expected from a machine bearing the Aprilia name. One would expect it to be priced at around Rs 3 lakhs.

Now that your pulse is racing, which one of these lovely upcoming bikes would you prefer? Of course if your preference is for more power and refinement, you should look at the latest offerings from the Indian, Harley Davidson or Victory stables.

All upcoming bikes have great features and count in beautiful motorcycles.
